„Suflet de copil în Mileniul III”
“CHILD SOUL IN THE III RD MILLENIUM”

A brief presentation of the project:

The project “1st JUNE…Childhood”, initiated by the NGO „Suflet de copil în Mileniul III”, consists in working with a number of some 30 children from socially deprived families, and teaching them music, dancing, theatre, and the beauty of arts in general.
This project was started due to the fact that Pantelimon Town has a great number of talented children who do not have access to this kind of education. They are children from poor Gipsy and Romanian families and children with various physical or mental problems, and, starting with the 1st of June, they want to show they can delight the audiences with their performances.
Unfortunately, at present, there is no specially designed hall where they can rehearse. The rehearsals take place in an improvised hall, where the only beautiful things are the children themselves, and they rehearse in the hope that their performance on the 1st of June will earn them applause, appreciation, and…sweets.
The children will perform:

Modern dancing: Waltzing and Tango;
Short Theatre Play: Youth without Study and Life without Education.
Children Songs dedicated to the 1st of June.

And in order to achieve their goals, the „Suflet de copil în Mileniul III” organization is asking for material and financial support from businesses, organizations, NGO’s, wealthy individuals, State Institutions, etc.

Main purpose of the organization: “to teach the children better communication skills and bring them to a higher cultural level, in order to allow easier integration in society in the future”.

Goals of the organization:

1. To create the best environment for children’s education.
2. To avoid the “Street Kids” phenomenon by keeping children interested and occupied with creative activities.
3. To teach children dancing, poetry, theatre, music, through play.
4. To provide an informal, pleasant teaching environment for children.
5. To occupy part of children’s free time with creative activities.
6. To encourage team work and discourage discrimination.
